Final CWPT Preservation Effort of 2006
I received my last mailing of the year from the Civil War Preservation Trust working to preserve 3 properties. The 3 properties only amount to 23 acres, but the significance of 2 of the properties is 2,250 feet of well-preserved Confederate earthworks. The 3 properties in question are:
- White Oak Road Battlefield, VA - 1,500 of earthworks on 8.6 acres
- Second Deep Bottom (Fussell's Mill), VA - 750 feet of earthworks on 6.4 acres. The CWPT already purchased the property to secure the land. This is also the first hallowed ground saved at the 1864 Richmond-Petersburg battlefield.
- Fort Donelson, KY - 8 acres
As always your don't need to be a CWPT member to help out. The CWPT accepts donations via donate.net.
