Shiloh: Sentinels of Stone Scheduled for Late 2007

Gettysburg: Sentinels of Stone Vicksburg: Sentinels of Stone  Tim Isbell, author and photographer behind the wonderful Gettysburg: Sentinels of Stone and Vicksburg: Sentinels of Stone books, dropped me an email to let me and my readers know that a 3rd book on Shiloh will be released next year.

Shiloh: Sentinels of Stone to be published in 2007

The University Press of Mississippi has announced they will publish Tim Isbell's new book, Shiloh: Sentinels of Stone next year. The book will be the third in the Sentinels of Stone series documenting important Civil War battlefields in the United States. The book will feature pictures and stories from Shiloh, Savannah and Metamora, Tenn., as well as Corinth and Iuka, Miss. Shiloh: Sentinels of Stone will be in bookstores in the fall and winter of 2007.

Tim sent me a few photographs from Shiloh.  As you can see the photography is incredible.  I received the Gettysburg: Sentinels of Stone for Father's Day and thoroughly enjoy it.

Tim also has a website for the books and his other photographic works.  It is easy to remember as it's www.timisbell.com. Besides photos from the Sentinels books he also has a photo gallery of Hurricane Katrina, Vietnamese Culture, and Brett Favre. (I covered Brett Favre from his days at Hancock North Central High School to the University of Southern Mississippi to his first pro contract with the Atlanta Falcons and finally on to legendary stature as the quarterback for the Green Bay Packers.)  I won't fault him for the latter, being I'm from Chicago.  Da Bears!  7-0!!!!

Thanks Tim for the info on Shiloh and your great books.  I have the Vicksburg book on my Christmas list.
